Women’s Big Bash League 2021-2022 Squad
As mentioned before, a total of eight teams contested in the Women’s Big Bash League 2021-22 season. However, only two get to play in the WBBL final.
And each team was allowed only 15 active players. Out of these 15, five could be marquee players. And then, a maximum of three from these five could be overseas.
In Woman BBL 2021, a local player could be a marquee player, if he holds Cricket Australia national contract before the start of the WBBL season 7. Here’s a detail of all the eight teams that played.

Best Players of WBBL 2021/2022
In the Big Bash Women 2021 tournament, you’ll witness the biggest pool of Indian players. In fact, in the BBL Women 2021, the Indian contribution was the largest. Below is the list of the best players of the WBBL 2021 , you’ll notice more Indian players than any other overseas players.Harmanpreet Kaur – Melbourne Renegades
The T20I Indian captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, was named as the player of the tournament in the Women’s Big Bash League 2021-2022. Her brilliant performance became the reason for Melbourne Renegades to qualify for the playoffs. She topped the batting and the bowling charts. And without a doubt, she was the brilliant all-rounder of the season.
Overall, Harmanpreet scored 406 runs at a strike rate of 130.96 and yielded 15 wickets with her right-arm off-spin.
Jemimah Rodrigues – Melbourne Renegades
Another best player of the woman BBL 2021 is from Melbourne Renegades. Jemimah was a useful addition to the team’s opening line-up. One of her brilliant openings in the BBL Women’s League 2021 includes an unbeaten 75 off 56 deliveries. She played this performance against Sydney Thunders and also won the Player of the Match award.
Rodrigues was the second-highest run-scorer of the WBBL 2021 results. She made a total of 333 runs at an average of 27.75.
Smriti Mandhana – Sydney Thunder
Another flamboyant Indian opener, Smriti Mandhana, is next on our list of best WBBL 2021/2022 season players. Smriti made the joint-highest score in the history of the WBBL final. In the Big Bash League 2021 women, Smriti became the first Indian to score an unbeaten 100 in the league.
Overall, she made 377 runs at a strike rate of 130.44. Also, she was the top scorer and the leading cause in two of her team’s four wins.
Deepti Sharma – Sydney Thunder
Another best player from the defending champion Sydney Thunder was Deepti Sharma. Though Deepti played in the lower order, she was one of the brightest spots in her team in Big Bash League 2021 women. Sharma scored a total of 211 runs at an average of 35.16. Also, she was the second-highest wicket-taker of the team with her 13 scalps at an economy of 7.15.
Shafali Verma – Sydney Sixers
Shafali was the star of the Sixers during the Big Bash League 2021 Women. She started off strong including a 50-ball 57. And overall, she made 191 runs at a strike rate of 105.52.
However, till the end of the tournament, Verma was only a shadow of her explosive self. And she succumbs to eight single-digit scores.
Radha Yadav- Sydney Sixers
During the BBL Women’s League 2021, Radha made headlines for her on-point stellar catch. She was also the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament. She took a total of nine wickets and scored 43 runs in her five innings. Though she played in the lower order, she was a remarkable addition to the team.
Richa Ghosh – Hobart Hurricanes
Hobart Hurricanes also enlisted themselves for having the best players in the Women’s Big Bash League 2021-2022. The 18-year-old Richa Ghosh was the star of the team. She scored a total of 162 runs at a strike rate of 95.29. Richa scored 67 runs in her first two matches which was a great start.
Poonam Yadav – Brisbane Heat
Poonam Yadav was among the top spinners of the WBBL 2021/2022 season. She was representing Brisbane Heat when she took a total of 10 wickets at 6.63 runs an over. Poonam was the veteran leg spinner of the Brisbane Heat. And she took four wickets in her first two games.
