    The name of the team was inspired by the famous American television series Knight Riders of the 1980s.
    \nSourav Ganguly became the captain of the team.
    \nKKR squad finished 6th in the table.
    \nKnight Riders failed to qualify for CLT-20.<\/p>\n

    2009:<\/p>\n

    It was the worst season for the KKR team, following nine successive defeats.
    \nKnight Riders caught in the web of controversies.
    \nThe team finished last at the table.<\/p>\n

    2010:<\/p>\n

    Shane Bond became part of the team.
    \nThe players had a great start with two successive wins.
    \nKKR squad finished 6th on the points table.<\/p>\n

    2011:<\/p>\n

    KKR managed to buy Yusuf Pathan.
    \nThe team lost the eliminator round against Mumbai Indians.
    \nProtest groups were created after Sourav Ganguly was not picked by the KKR.

    Trevor Bayliss became the coach.
