The History Of the Hundred League
In 2016, the England and Wales Cricket Board also known as ECB launched the Hundred League. It was launched to attract more audiences with simplified rules to keep their interest in it. In 2021, the first edition of the 100 ball cricket league took place where eight teams competed against each other for the trophy. In total there were 16 teams that made 2 teams for each franchise, one for men and the other for women. The matches consist of single innings and 100 balls are allowed in each innings. A bowler can ball for 10 consecutive balls after this the change occurs and an individual is allocated 20 balls for bowling in a single inning. The Power play is about 25 balls and only two fielder are allowed out the boundary.
The 100 Cricket Tournament Squads Formation
The squads that are formed in the 100 cricket tournament have about 15 players. Each squad is allowed to retain about 10 players. The squads are advised to recruit at least 5 new players who were not in the previous squad. The players that are retained can be domestic or international players. However, the squads can only retain two players who are in contract with the England team. More than two England contracted players are not allowed to be retained by the teams. The squads have a well-balanced approach and are made with the target of winning kept in mind.

100 Men Cricket Team Manchester Originals
The one of the squad which is the part of the 100 ball cricket tournament is the Manchester Originals. The tournament is also known as The Hundred. The City of Manchester is represented by the Manchester Originals in this tournament. There are two teams for this franchise. One is the team that is composed of women and the other is the team that is composed of men. The women’s team is led by Late Cross and the captain of the men’s team is Carlos Brathwaite. Similarly, there are two coaches for the two teams. The women’s team has Paul Shaw as its Head coach and the Head coach of the men’s team is Simon Katich. The home ground for the Manchester Originals is Emirates Old Trafford.
The Hundred League Team Birmingham Phoenix
Another esteemed team of the 100 ball cricket tournament is the Birmingham Phoenix team. The City of Warwickshire and Worcestershire is represented by the Birmingham Phoenix in this tournament. There are two teams for this franchise. One is the women’s team and the other is the team including all male players. The men’s team is led by Moeen Ali and the captain of the women’s team is Sophie Devine. Similarly, there are two coaches for the two teams. The men’s team has Daniel Vettori as its Head coach and the Head coach of the women’s team is Ben Sawyer. The home ground for the Birmingham Phoenix is Edgbaston stadium.
Hundred Ball Tournament Team London Spirit
London Spirit is a well reputed team of the tournament. The Middlesex, Essex and Northamptonshire counties are represented by the London Spirit in this tournament. There are two teams for the franchise of London Spirit. One is the women’s team and the other is the men’s team. The men’s team is led by Eoin Morgan who plays as a batsman and the captain of the women’s team is Heather Knight. Two separate head coaches are appointed for the two teams of the London Spirit. The women’s team has Trevor Griffin as its Head coach and the Head coach of the men’s team is Trevor Beyliss. The home ground for the Birmingham Phoenix is the Lord’s stadium.
The Hundred Cricket Team Northern Superchargers
The City of North East and Yorkshire are represented by the Northern Superchargers in this tournament. There are two teams for this franchise. One is the women’s team and the other is the male team. The men’s team is led by David Willey and the captain of the women’s team is Lauren Winfield-Hill. Similarly, there are two coaches for the two teams. The men’s team has James Foster as its Head coach and the Head coach of the women’s team is Danielle Hazell. The home ground for the Northern Superchargers is Headingley Cricket Ground.
100 Men Cricket Team Oval Invincibles
The women’s team of the Oval Invincibles is the winner of the previous edition of the game. The counties of Kent and Surrey are represented by the Oval Invincibles in this tournament. Two teams play under this franchise. One is the men’s team and the other is the women’s team. The women’s team is led by Dane van Niekerk and the captain of the men’s team is Sam Billings. Similarly, there are two coaches for the two teams. The men’s team has Tom Moody as its Head coach and the Head coach of the women’s team is Jonathan Batty. The home ground for the Oval Invincibles is The Oval.

The men’s team of the Southern Brave is the winner of the previous edition. The counties of Hampshire and Sussex are represented by the Southern Brave this tournament. Two teams play under this franchise. One is the women only and the other is the team of male members. The women’s team is led by Anya Shrubsole and the captain of the men’s team is James Vince. Similarly, there are two coaches for the two teams. The men’s team has Mahela Jayawardena as its Head coach and the Head coach of the women’s team is Charlotte Edwards. The home ground for the Southern Brave is the Ageas Bowl.
England 100 Ball Cricket Team Trent Rockets
The counties of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire are represented by the Trent Rockets in this tournament. Two teams play under this franchise. One is the women’s team and the other is the men’s team for men. The men’s team is led by Lewis Gregory and the captain of the women’s team is Nat Sciver. Similarly, there are two coaches for the two teams. The men’s team has Andy Flower as its Head coach and the Head coach of the women’s team is Salliann Beams. The home ground for the Trent Rockets is Trent Bridge.
Hundred Ball Cricket Team Welsh Fire
The counties of Glamorgan, Gloucestershire and Somerset are represented by the Welsh Fire in this tournament. Two teams play under this franchise. One is the women’s team for women and the other is the team for men. The women’s team is led by Tammy Beaumont and the captain of the men’s team is Johnny Bairstow. Similarly, there are two coaches for the two teams. The men’s team has Gary Kristen as its Head coach and the Head coach of the women’s team is Mark O’Larry. The home ground for the Welsh Fire is Sophia Gardens in Cardiff for both of the teams.
The Hundred Fixtures
The next tournament of the series is set to take place in England from 3 August 2022 to 3 September 2022. The men’s team will come Head to head at The Ageas Bowl Southampton. This will take place between the Welsh Fire men’s team and the Southern Brave men’s team on 3rd August 2022
