Asia Cup is the only continental cricket championship in the world, established by the Asian Cricket Council in 1983. Its primary purpose was to promote goodwill between Asian countries. And it is played on a rotational basis between One Day International and T20I format.
The Asia Cup 2022 Cricket was held from August 27 to September 11. A total of six teams fought for the cup in this tournament.

History Of Asia Cup Cricket
The Asia Cup cricket tournament was founded by the Asian Cricket Council back in 1983. At that time, only three teams were part of this Asia Cup cricket game. India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. And it was decided by the Asia Cup cricket council that each Asia Cup match will be given the official status of ODI. The very first match of the tournament was played in UAE.
While in 2016, the ICC announced that from this tournament onwards, the Asia Cup cricket would be played on a rotation basis between ODI and Twenty20 International.

The First Matches Of Asia Cup
The very first tournament of the Asia Cup cricket was held in the United Arab Emirates. And India won this inaugural season of the tournament, naming the Asia Cup as Asia Cup India. Then, the Asian Cricket council arranged the next tournament of 1986, with Sri Lanka being the host. And interestingly, the Asia Cup T20 1986 was even won by Sri Lanka.
And in the next tournament, the Asian Cricket council decided to include a fourth team as well. Bangladesh participated in the Asia Cup that year and hosted its first tournament the following year.
