Mumbai Indians History

2008:

Sachin Tendulkar was the team’s icon player.
Under the captaincy of Shaun Pollock, the team won six out of six games.
Sachin Tendulkar was the captain during the last matches, and the MI team finished fifth in the IPL table and nobody couldn’t imagine that they would become the most successful team in all IPL winners lists.

2009:

Shaun Pollock retired.
Lasith Malinga (lead wicket-taker) returned.
MI bought South African Batsman JP Duminy.
The team finished 2nd last (7th on the table), having won only 5 games out of 14.

2010:

The team bought Kieron Pollard.
Sachin Tendulkar was at his best during this season. He became the first IPL player to won the orange cap.
The team won the semi-final (all thanks to pollard) but lost the final from Chennai Super Kings by 22 runs all because of the greatest play of the CSK opening batsman who made this final game.

2011:

Mumbai Indians retained Sachin Tendulkar, Pollard, Malinga, and Harbhajan.
Rohit Sharma Joined MI this year
The team won the Eliminator round but lost the game at the Qualifying final against Royal Challengers Bangalore which was owned by the legend Vijay Mallya but it was in 2011 and now do you know what is the RCB team owner name in 2023? -United Spirits which bought the team in 2016.

2012:

Harbhajan was appointed as the stand-in captain.
MI squad lose in the Eliminator round by 38 runs.

2013:

Ricky joined the MI team and was announced as the captain.
Ricky stepped down in the mid-season, and Rohit Sharma became MI captain for the first time.
Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement.
Mumbai Indians won the IPL trophy for the first time.
The MI team won their CLT-20 trophy.

2014:

Zaheer Khan made a comeback in the team.
MI team finished in the qualifying group for CLT-20.
The squad finished in the playoffs but lost in the Eliminator round against Chennai Super Kings.
2015:
Hardik Pandya and Mitchell McClenaghan joined the MI team and made an immediate impact.
The team won 9 out of their 10 last matches and won the IPL title for the 2nd time.

2015:

2018:

Lasith Malinga joined as the bowling mentor.
The team finished fifth in the table.

2019:

MI became the first team to win 100 IPL matches and the IPL title for the fourth time.

2020:

Rohit Sharma played his 150th Indian Premier League Match where he reached the title of one of the IPL highest score by batsman
MI team won the IPL title for the fifth time.

2021

The IPL 2021 season started well for MI with four wins in seven games before COVID-19 pandemic. After the league was moved to UAE Mumbai Indians crumbled its positions in the table and could win only 3 games out of 7 to finish and finish at the 5-th place in the IPL 2021 points table.

2022

The worst season for Mumbai Indians because the finished the IPL 2022 season at the bottom of the points table in a 10-team format.
